The Princess Above Ground Pool from the Panorama Group is a innovation in the pool market.
|
|
|
 |
 |
|
The Princess is a “fully self supporting fibreglass swimming pool”, the pool incorporates its own structural bracing and a galvanized “U-Brace” to slip under the pool
Imagine, having your pool structure delivered pre-assembled. Your pool structure and lining is one piece, solid fibreglass. No fiddly nuts and bolts and no worries about a vinyl liner getting a hole, when boys are being boys.

The idea for this fibreglass pool, came from our Eagleray Boats designer. It’s a simple premise, we make both commercial and family boats that are larger than this pool that keep our boaties alive and well in open water by keeping the water out, with our expertise in boats and in ground pools it is a logical extension to build an above ground pool to keep the water in.
Fibreglass is a great material to work with, incredibly strong and flexible. The Princess Pool shell is all one piece quite literally its lifted off the truck onto the level spot you prepared for the pool, you connect the pre-cut pipes with the supplied pump and filtration and it is ready to add water.
We also provide a “U-Brace” that adds that additional strength, we don’t expect you’ll have the local footy team perched along the side of the pool, if it happens, the “U-Brace” means the pool will be fine, leaving you free to worrying about your visitors eating you out of house and home!
We back up the pool with top shelf pump and filtration, its serious gear the same type we install on our award winning in ground concrete pools. Namely, Davey and their latest SLS pump range (visit www.davey.com.au to look into these fantastic pumps that are both quiet and energy efficient, we match the pump to the Davey Crystal Clear water filters).
Support is important so whether your in country Queensland or the suburbs, “Depending on Davey” means you’ll have a authorized Davey agent nearby if you need a hand.
We’ve also put a bit of thought into getting in and out of the pool. Getting out is easy we have a set of stairs built right into the structure of the shell, its included. Getting in, we give you two choices, one is free with the pool the second adds a few dollars.

The Princess standard ladder is a nice standard accessory. It has good wide step treads and simply bolts to the lip of the pool. It is included with your Princess Pool purchase.
The high lift handles makes it easy for young and old to enter and leave the pool.
With a ladder such as this, your local council will ask you to put a fence and gate around it to stop the little ones from sneaking in when you’re not looking.
On that note, the sides of the Princess are 1300mm tall by design, that’s 100mm taller than the regulation pool fence, meaning you provided you keep the pool about 1.2m away from things the kids can climb on, you don’t need to fence the pool shell, just the ladder.

We thought the Princess could have a better alternative to the ladder and take care of the fence at the same time.
Hence we created the “Step and Gate option” order this upgrade option instead of the ladder and get three benefits for the price of one
1. It is a terrific stairway to enter the pool, meaning no ladder climbing, making entry and egress a little more, well, elegant.
2. It is a fence, with a fully compliant pool gate and latch system (no building fences around ladders)
3. It is a pool pump and filter cover, with your pump and filter being securely locked away under the stairs.

The Princess is also constructed in a similar way to our ‘in ground’ pool range. Once you complete the council permit process, there is nothing preventing you from turning your Princess into a in ground pool. We’ll even provide you the instructions on how install the pool in the ground if you have the inclination and ability to do it.
As a in ground pool with the addition of a paved surround, decks, pool fence etc. the conversion of a Princess to a in ground pool is not only straight forward it is extremely economical. Moreover it provides you with a pool that is the equal if not structurally superior to any in ground fibreglass pool.

The above pictures is from one of our very first clients, he simply followed the instructions and installed the Princess in the ground. As a builder and supplier of fibreglass in ground pools, this is both terrific and scary for my sales team; scary as they might lose a in ground sale to the Princess. For around half the price of our fully constructed installed fibreglass pools this fellow has about 110% of the structure, and about 80% of the look when compared to a fully installed Panorama Pools fibreglass pool.
Why 110% of the structure - when the in ground fibreglass pool is installed the surrounding ground helps support the pool. The Princess stands alone, it does not need this support and is all the more stronger than a traditional in ground fibreglass pool.

The Princess structure on difficult ground
A common question is how does it go in volatile soils, for example the western Queensland black soil areas or highly reactive clay sites. The answer is simple, “the pool is incredibly strong with the fibreglass structure and pre-welded “U-brace”, all you need do is follow the installation instructions, and the pool will quite happily sit on the ground”.
Digging it in is also easy, for example; you may be sitting on quite rocky soil, or a slope that could have you staring down a expensive pool dig. The Princess can be on top of the ground or fully dug in or anywhere in between - it offers a lot of flexibility to change your mind as the conditions change.

The Princess hits the road
We were surprised in our research how often people move house that take their above ground pool with them.
We were not surprised to hear everyone who had moved pools said that pulling the old vinyl liner pool apart and reassembling it often did not go so well, as age wearied all the connectors, panels, nuts and bolts.
The Princess on the other hand is literally the pool shell (one piece), steps or ladder (the second piece), the pump (third piece) and the filter (fourth piece), the U brace (fifth piece), not too shabby and easy to have lifted onto a truck and dropped off at your next place. Moreover it you do decide you want to put down roots or get a in ground pool, you could always dig a hole and install it - add paving to the top and there you have it; an in ground fibreglass pool.
If we are making it sound too simple, no apologies it is.

Above ground pools - the old verses the new
|
|
|
 |
 |
|
Remember the last time you purchased a piece of kit furniture, all the bits bobs screws etc.
Imagine building a pool that is about 7m long by 3m wide and how many bits and bobs will you need, the preparation, the assembly, the cementing of the support structure, spreading of the vinyl liner, filling with water, fence construction etc.

Think of it as the old way....
......... you’ll find yourself at the end of it all perhaps humbled but definitely left with a feeling of accomplishment; you’ve triumphed. Surrounded by tufts of hair; you furtively glance over the top of your beer (for medicinal purposes of course) at the small, but somehow significant, pile of left over bits and pieces. Your reverie is interrupted by the wife who asks the only reasonable question that such an event calls for, “Honey, ..”aren’t those bits important?”.

This time the pool shows up in one piece. It’s totally resin based, perfect for holding about 20,000ltrs of water - nothing to rust, even if its salt chlorinated.
Its lifted off the truck, put on your level site and you connect your pump and filter, add the fence around the ladder and away you go.

You prepare your level site (just like the old way)
You have the pool and brace delivered and dropped onto your site
Using the precut pipes you connect up your pump and filter
You put your ladder against the outside of the pool - the inside steps are part of the shell. If you don’t want to build a fence we have a totally unique step option that not only integrates the pool fence and gate in one, it also acts as a pump cover and the option price. This can be less expensive than building a fence the old way....
Fill with water and get swimming.

There’s no doubt about it its brilliant. Very little by way of assembly, and a solid fibreglass structure that has a lot more in common with the structure and strength of a fibreglass boat than it does have with a pool. With the obligatory pool gate inspection you’re off and swimming.
