This page provides a simple overview of the steps involved with the Princess pool above ground installation with a somewhat cheeky poke at what you may go through with some of the other above ground ‘to be assembled’ kits.

When we provide a Panorama Princess pool you’ll receive a comprehensive instruction on the pool. It details information on preparing the site and connecting the filtration. The instruction also includes a guide on looking after pool water and pool chemistry. It gets you started on the lingo and shows how easy it is to look after your pool and pool water.

When you order your Princess pool kit you will receive

- Princess fibreglass complete pool shell in one of two colours

- Structural U-Brace pre-assembled

- A Davey pump and cartridge filter to match (sand filter as upgrade option)

- Plumbing is already built into the shell, you’ll also receive the precut external         plumbing kit

- External ladder, the internal steps are provided as part of the Princess shell

- Comprehensive installation and operation manual

Atypical Vinyl Liner

Site Prep

Site preparation consists of leveling the site and providing a level supportive base such as crusher dust aggregate or similar. Stand the U brace in the centre of your prepared area.

Site preparation consists of leveling the site and providing a level supportive base such brickies loam or similar retained base. You need to ensure you have a residual herbicide to prevent grasses or woody weeds from popping up and growing through the liner.

Pool Structure Assembly

No structure assembly, simply have a franna (a small mobile crane that looks like a truck) lower the pool onto your prepared pad and U Brace at a typical cost under $200

Starts with digging in trenches and placing concrete support blocks for the basic frame structure of the pool. Bolting and taping these items together to hold them for the next stage. Normally you’ll need a assistant or two to complete the next stages

Accurately lay out the base of the pool ensuring the base rails are in the right position when you roll out the steel sides of the pool and clip it into the base. Making sure you don’t distort the steel sides. This must be done accurately to ensure the liner fits

The vertical side uprights and tops need to be bolted together ready for the insertion of the vinyl liner. Making sure the liner locking mechanism is correctly placed

Addition of more bedding sand inside the pool to sculpt the base and support the liner in place.

Spread the liner evenly and in correct orientation, you may need to use a vacuum cleaner to create suction to assist in placement. You’ll need one person inside the pool and outside as it is a large sheet of plastic.

Pump and Filter Connection

The pool structure is delivered with the fittings in the shell. Take the pre-cut pipe sections and assemble the pump and filter as per the diagram with the pool

Once you have located the fittings in the metal surrounds of the pool you need to carefully identify the liner position and cut the liner.

It is important not to cut incorrectly.

The liner is then sealed with silicone against the elements that penetrate the pool.

You then cut the pipe to suit and assemble the pump and filter as per the diagram with the pool kit

Pool Entry Ladder / Stairs

The pool is provided as standard with a ladder assemble the ladder and screw to side of pool. The internal stairs are part of the pool structure

The pool is provided as standard with a ladder assemble the ladder and screw to side of pool. The internal stairs are separate to the pool structure and protrude into the pool. This may be a capture point for automatic pool cleaners.

Pool Fence and Gate

The sides of the pool are 1300mm hence provided there are no climbing points within 1200mm arc of the top of the pool you only need to fence the stairs

The sides of the pool are 1300mm hence provided there are no climbing points within 1200mm arc of the top of the pool you only need to fence the stairs

We provide a optional kit that offers a set of stairs to enter the pool, that incorporates the pool gate and houses the pump and filter. In which case all you need to is slide this in place and fasten to the pool surround using silicone adhesive and a couple of screws

A fence system will need to be assembled around the stairs area, which will include fence posts, panels and gate. The pool pump and filter if adjacent to the pool will be need to be inside this fence, alternatively if the pump and filter is away from the pool you will need to ensure the pump and filter is outside of the 1200mm climbable radius.

Council Approvals

No matter what the pool, your local council will have regulations controlling its installation. The above ground Princess pool as it is a structure that is not constructed on site and simply sits on level ground, may be classed in your area as a temporary structure and avoid building permits. You will need to have the pool fence / gate inspected to ensure the pool complies and this is before filling with water.

Check with your local council as compliance with their regulations is your responsibility.
